Webinar: Grief through a PSIM lens

We are holding the deep grief of the past 4 years in our lungs, our hearts, our jaws, and yes, even in our knees. Our bodies are relieving the past as if it is still occurring. Replaying these wounds on a feedback loop in the form of body pain, limited function, and emotional rigidity.

Our grief avoidance makes sense. Grief is one of the few emotions that swallows us whole. Creating a void-space that feels eternal. Grief can oftentimes feel like a free-fall into the unknown.

Grief is the ultimate form of surrender: A concept that appears worse than death to the ego.

Therefore, our minds will create all kinds of adaptations to keep us from having to experience an ego death…

Busyness

Collapse

Overwhelm

Depression

Distraction

Deflection

Compensation

Projection

These adaptations are designed to keep us moving forward, but sometimes they come at an expense to the health of our bodies and to our relationships.

Carrying grief for too long skews our reality and shapes our identity into a compilation of avoidance patterns and defense mechanisms.

If we don’t learn healthy strategies for processing our grief, we are at risk for losing ourselves and our connection to our internal compass.

This is why I have decided to host this webinar.

In this webinar, I will share my observations of how we carry grief in our body and how it expresses itself in our behaviours. I will share some case studies about how my clients and I have worked with grief using the Psyche-Soma Integration Model (PSIM), which gives us tools for being present to the process so that we may integrate grief’s many lessons over time.

This webinar is for Practitioners and Clients who are looking for an integrative approach that uses the body to address complex trauma patterns.

After the webinar, I would like to offer you a special invitation:

Those of you who attend the webinar live are invited to stay for our Embodiment Project Study Group from 1-2:30PM.

This is a very special opportunity for those who would like to experience my work for the first time.

The Embodiment Project study groups are typically only open to folks who have gone through the Embodiment Project or who have worked with a coach or therapist who is trained in the PSIM.

In this study group, we will be receiving an Embodiment Code that specifically addresses how we hold grief in the body.

This webinar is donation-based, with all proceeds going towards the Cancer Society of America.

In honour of my mother, Deborah Kay Benson.
